Now Accepting App and Games Submissions for 6 New Markets
We are pleased to start off the year with an expansion of the
App Hub that gives you an opportunity to reach customers in more
markets. Windows Phone Marketplace is poised to add apps and games
distribution to 6 new markets in the coming months, including Argentina,
China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru and the Philippines. In preparation,
Microsoft is now accepting submissions from developers wishing to have
their apps and/or games certified for distribution in these new markets.
Submissions to 3 of the 6 new markets – China, Indonesia and Malaysia –
must meet additional requirements due to local laws, regulations or
norms. You can find information on these additional
requirements in the
Application Certification Requirements.
Finally, please note that of the new consumer markets, App Hub
developer support is only offered for China at this time.
Target Your Apps and Games Worldwide or Specific Markets
You can choose to submit your apps and games to one or all
available markets worldwide within App Hub. Please be aware though that
when you select to publish worldwide, the requirements of all markets
must be satisfied before publication: If your application fails
certification, you will need to either update and resubmit your app to
meet all worldwide requirements, or de-select the markets where your
application does not meet requirements. Please also be aware that if you
want to target your previously published apps and games to the new
consumer markets when they come online, you must return to the App Hub
and (re)select the ‘worldwide' distribution option or select the
specific new markets that you want to target. Please review the
App Hub Application Submission Walkthrough for more details.
